So you've just started driving lessons with a driving school or you still might be in the process of finding a driving instructor in your local area. If you want to ace that driving test, here are the top 5 tips for doing so.

#1 - Learn from a qualified driving school. As tempting as it is to learn from your friends or a family member, the best thing you can do to help yourself in passing the driving test is by taking driving lessons from a qualified driving school. Because they are up to date on the laws and road rules of each state, they can educate you about what is correct and incorrect. There would be nothing worse than taking your driving test and fail because mum or dad had given you incorrect information. Don't fall victim to this daily occurrence.

#2 - Call more than one driving school. There are many driving schools out there. Get a feeling for what the person is about. Some driving schools are larger businesses operating all over Australia and some are small and independent, run by people in your local community. Try giving a local business a go, it's likely you will save money as they have a lower operating cost and you're also helping your local economy.

#3 - Approach your driving lessons with an open mind. It's an exciting time of your life and you want to adopt the best driving habits possible so you will grow into an experienced driving. Don't let your enthusiasm go to your head!

#4 - Schedule in more than just the one driving lesson. A big factor in learning to drive is taking the time to have your driving lessons. Speak with your driving school and ask how many lessons they suggest. On average, you should look to take 10 lessons before going for your driving test.

#5 - Have fun! Driving is great fun and something many Australian's enjoy. You can be serious about learning the best driving habits and still have great fun while you learn with your driving school. Once you pass your driving test, the real fun will begin!
