A while back my proud papa became a widower, so  we needed to put the anguish to the side because of Daddy. My mum was the driving force in our family plus, of course, in their friendship. Mum was one of those tough but calm ladies that directed the works and we could not think about the impact she left in day to day life.

Whilst we did not have a house far away, it was 65 km to visit, therefore not something to be done daily.  After the death of mother, he stayed with us but  he appeared sad to be away from his house, his favorite back yard as well as his thoughts and, after 3 weeks, was eager to return. I asked him to look at moving close to us however the sorry face ensured the answer was obvious.

It was our younger daughter,  came up with an idea of finding a pet dog for her granddad. It was a courageous opinion as her grandmother would never have thought about having an animal in the house. Though Daddy had a gentle spot for dogs and was constantly called upon to house-sit friends pets whenever the owners went on holiday. A big idea of a dog for granddad began to grow in our thoughts.

Our Family kept day after day communication with Papa via the internet however Alicia decided to bring up the suggestion first. Grandpa said he would ‘think about it’, so that meant he was not against the idea but probably would not do anything about it soon. Alicia decided that meant she would find grandpa a new best buddy.

She became a girl with a mission and she started researching numerous breeds and interrogating her grandfather at each chance. We were fairly concerned, but Stepfather seemed to find it highly funny. Then Alicia proclaimed that the ideal dog would be a Jack Russell. We teased her that her choice was because of her granddad's favourite television show – as the home dog was a Jack Russell. Nonetheless, Alicia was determined and Dad seemed willing so we started to search. Papa did not feel up to taking on a feisty small puppy and sorting out an elder pet dog was excessively tiresome. It was acutely a popular breed. Yet Alicia refused to give up.

She started fine-combing the internet and discovered a site dedicated to dogs. Dog owners, breeders and pet shops could announce dogs and registered members could  place free ads. So my daughter did not require an invitation  and, astonishingly, she received an answer a week later. A doting home was needed for a six year old dog.

We drove out to meet the dog and, after, bought the dog back to Dad’s home. both of them took a shine to each other right away and Bertie’s  earlier owner seemed gleeful. The important aspect about the website Alicia found was that it is really like a newspaper, yet more private. People can search by breed,  area, photos and talk with buyers and sellers to resolve questions before making any commitment. The friendship between Dad, Bertie and Bertie’s preceding owner was so awesome that Dad and Bertie occasionally visit her in her new home, so it seems that every person benefitted from this sale.

If you want to buy a dog, check out this amazing free classified site that offers a wide range of dogs for sale. So if you sell a dog is free publicity and many visitors come to the site.
