A while back my proud papa became a widower, so we needed to put the anguish to the side because of Daddy. My mum was the driving force in our family plus, of course, in their friendship. Mum was one of those tough but calm ladies that directed the works and we could not think about the impact she left in day to day life.

Then Alicia proclaimed that the ideal dog would be a Jack Russell. We teased her that her choice was because of her granddad's favourite television show – as the home dog was a Jack Russell. Nonetheless, Alicia was determined and Dad seemed willing so we started to search. Papa did not feel up to taking on a feisty small puppy and sorting out an elder pet dog was excessively tiresome. It was acutely a popular breed. Yet Alicia refused to give up.
